DID YOU MISS THIS?

It wasn’t Hawaii nor was it Tahiti or even a garden in Tokyo, but you had to blink twice when entering our last IFMA SFV meeting at Valley Crest in Calabasas to know it wasn’t any of those places.  What a facility!  What a great event!   Once we passed by the beautiful Atrium and the lovely teak and eucalyptus wood lined halls, we settled into the spacious conference room with a great view of the West Valley and sleek furnishings by our evening sponsors.  Thank you to our hosts, Valley Crest and our sponsor Tangram Interiors!

We also especially thank Mark Levin and Mike Girocco of C-3 Communications Cabling Consultants who made it a great event with their “New Communications Technology” presentation.  “Dark fiber,” “single mode and multi-mode fiber,” “VOIP,” “WiFi,” and many more terms and explanations stirred our interest and brought about excellent audience participation.  This was a presentation worthy of a World Workplace Session!

OPRORTUNITIES – WE NEED YOU!

As always, I would like to encourage all of you, especially our professional members out there, to get involved in IFMA SFV Chapter management.  We’re in need of Committee members and board members.  Hey, you’re a Facilities Manager!  You know about leadership, you are a Leader and we need you!  Your commitment to our Chapter gives us our strength!   I just know you will find the opportunity rewarding – and we know how to have fun, too!

THE BIG RAFFLE!

As you know, we are really big on raffles and drawings as part of our programs, but this latest is the Big One!  

At our July event, we began our “Win Free World Workplace 2006 Registration” drawing.   If you were not there, be sure you attend our next two IFMA SFV events to put your business card or name into the drawing.  Each time you attend, place your card in the bin for our final drawing at the September IFMA SFV event.

Remember, each event attended, increases your chance to win!  Stay tuned for additional WWP06 raffle prizes!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: UPCOMING EVENTS!

Mark your calendars for August 8th to “Come See What all the Brew-Ha-Ha is About” as we tour the Anheuser Busch facility beginning at 6:00 p.m., with the tour to start at 6:15.  We thank our Vice President, Roger Beck, for setting up this program entitled, “Brewing, Powerhouse, and Packaging – Maintenance and Operations.”

An additional thank you to our Programming Chair, Holly Rau Batacharya, who has arranged for another not to be missed program to be held at Ascent Media Group in Burbank on Tuesday, September 12th from 6-8 pm.  Holly tells us that it is a “state-of-the-art facility” and with all of the excellent ‘buzz’ that Ascent has generated in the entertainment industry, we are very excited to see what HOK has designed for them.  See you there!

WORLD WORKPLACE (San Diego, CA) COUNTDOWN!

WWP 2006 is fast approaching, I cannot urge you enough to register and attend.  It’s the most important event of our industry and it is practically in our backyard!  The idea sharing, networking, educational events and value you bring back to your workplace are well worth the registration fee.   If you have already registered or plan to register and attend WWP06, please let us know by sending an e-mail to dianarb@adelphia,net or call us at 1-866-39DIANA (1-866-393-4262); so we can make sure you get additional information and items for our West Coast membership and especially IFMA SFV members.
