Incredibly, it’s that time again – the end of another fiscal year of the IFMA San Fernando Valley Chapter -- and we have transitioned to new Board members! It is both an honor and a challenge to be the new President of our Chapter. As I follow in the footsteps our amazing past presidents, including Edie Rossmeisl and Holly Rau-Bhattacharyal, I pledge to uphold the high standards they have set for our organization and its members.

Recently we had our first 2006-2007 Executive Board Meeting, which included our new Co-Vice Presidents, Sherri Cahill of Napster and Roger Beck of Collier’s International. With the able assistance of experienced Board Members, Edie Rossmiesl as Treasurer, Dee Ann Jacobs as Secretary and Committee Members Bonnie Batchley Summer, Kieran Wong and Rodney Stone also present, it was both exciting and encouraging to see how seriously the Board takes their responsibilities. With all of the new ideas and enthusiasm they have, I am confident that IFMA SFV is ready for the best year ever!

We are now more than 100 members strong! However, the strength of our Chapter is dependent upon the commitment of individuals and companies who are willing to give of their time and resources. I encourage all of you, especially our professional members out there, to get involved in IFMA SFV Chapter management. We are in great need of members willing assist with our various committees. You will find that it is truly very rewarding and I know the relationships you develop will be worth far more than the minimal investment of your time. If you are interested in any of our opportunities or even have an idea you would like to present for our Strategic Plan, please contact any of our Executive Board members, including me at dianarb@adelphia.net or 1-866-39DIANA (1-866-393-4262.) Even if you are unable to assist with our committees, you can become involved by simply attending monthly events and programs. I just know you will be surprised at how rewarding your involvement will be!

As we enter a new year, it is fitting to say a very special thank you to our previous Executive Board and Committee members, including Edie Rossmeisl, Holly Rau-Bhattacharya, Dee Ann Jacobs, Michael Cook, Michael Kinal, Bonnie (Batchley) Summer, Kieran Wong, Rodney Stone, Brian Bradley and our Webmaster, Miguel Maldonado for a very successful 2005-2006. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors as well. You provide the very critical financial support that allows us to present quality programs, educational opportunities and valuable networking events. We could not be this successful without you!

We have many great events coming up this year, starting with tomorrow’s (July 18th) Program, “New Communication Technology: How Your Cabling and Telephones are Changing to Meet Today’s Needs,” sponsored by Tangram and hosted by Valley Crest, located in Calabasas. This is a great opportunity to not only learn the newest innovations but also to gain CEU’s for your individual continuing education accomplishments, for CFM/FM maintenance points, AND to place your name into the drawing to be held in September for Paid Registration for World Workplace 2006!
