ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Under
direct guidance, performs administrative and coordination
responsibilities in planning, organizing, reviewing, and project
management for the facilities area of the Development Department.
Monitors project administration and construction activity related to all
approved projects to ensure that identified timelines are being met and
that expenditures are with budgetary constraints. Plans schedules, and
coordinates the progress and execution of plans, projects and activities
initiated by the Development Director or his designee, which may include
providing assistance to other departments. Develops scopes of work,
Requests for Proposals, Request for Quotes for professional services:
coordinates with General Services regarding appropriate process and
procedures. Obtains and secures appropriate permits and governing board
approval for projects. May assist in negotiating and administering
agreements regarding real property, such as office and warehouse leases,
month-to month rentals of storage space and supply support to management
in conjunction with the purchase of real property. Assists in
administering space plans/office space and may assist in managing design
activities such as standardization of furniture, selection of color and
fabric choices for carpet, walls and windows. Monitor contractors
performing interior improvements or other related project activities.
Plans, schedules, coordinates under direction implements long-range
modernization and rehabilitation projects and delivery parameters of
public owned or leased facilities. Plans and implements floor plan
changes and staff relocations. Facilitates trouble-shooting/maintenance
problems at the Central Office and other facilities for less complex
matters and effectively refers more complex issues to management. May
provide lower level supervision of property management contractors
and/or department staff. Performs all other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s
degree from an accredited college in architectural, planning,
engineering, business administration or closely related field, AND two
(2) years of experience in facilities/property management, planning,
architecture/engineering, real estate, or equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience. Knowledge of facilities related
codes and regulations, good negotiation skills, and superior
oral/written communication skills are highly desirable. Must possess a
valid California Class C driver’s license. As a Non-represented
employee, the incumbent must participate in mandatory direct deposit of

EXAMINATION: Applications
